Bill of Sale New Mexico
In New Mexico, a bill of sale, officially known as form MVD 10009, is a crucial document used to record the transfer of property such as cars, boats or motorcycles. While the state primarily uses the vehicle title for ownership changes, a bill of sale becomes legally required if the back of the title is full, missing information or if the sale involves an older boat or vehicle without a clear title history. Even when not strictly division (MVD) encourages using one to accurately calculate the excise tax and to protect both parties from liability.
